Pam has recently achieved her Diploma in Professional Curtain Making and Soft Furnishings at the National Design Academy and from her spacious workroom in the former barn at home in Penryn in South Cornwall has started her bespoke curtain making business in Cornwall:
It has been an ideal opportunity to combine a lifelong skill of sewing and love of fabrics with knowledge and skills gained as a trained accommodation assessor for Quality in Tourism on the Visit England Star Rating Scheme in Cornwall. Quality presentation of curtains and soft furnishings is vital for achieving a four or five star rating and accommodation and holiday home owners have to balance style and quality with cost and practical considerations such as light occlusion, sound proofing, warmth and fire retardant treatments.
Curtains are lined, interlined and finished to a high quality with hand sewn sides and hems, interlocked every quarter and weighted. Pam’s aim is for every curtain and blind, whatever the budget to look good and hang beautifully and she is keen to work with clients to achieve this.
